New use for a dishwasher

Ryan loves it when it's time to unload the dishwasher! He runs and grabs anything with wheels and turns the dishwasher door into a roadway and garage. He "parks" all the cars into the silverware baskets. What's even funnier are the noises he makes while doing this! He spends easily an hour doing this. Why do we have a playroom full of toys?!

Brotherly Love

The boys were playing nicely in their tent today so I went to grab my camera to take pictures. When I opened up the tent this is the image I saw....Ryan leaned over to give Kollman a kiss! Such a sweet moment!

Snow in South Texas..........Ryan style

Ryan is the most mischievous of our 3 kids! He's the baby so he gets by with quite a bit! When I had gone to change out some laundry he was playing trains....however, when I walked back into my kitchen this was the scene awaiting me. He is quick! I had just opened my new box of Paula Deen pots and pans and he found a piece of styrofoam. This was the end result.... snow all over my kitchen....and lots of smiles and giggles from Ryan.

Celebration 3--A day of pampering

Today was the big party day! We chose a spa theme this year. I wanted to make this birthday extra special for Madeline as this was her first birthday in Texas and included a whole new set of friends. She has endured a lot these past few months and has handled it all with such grace. I searched all over the internet looking for ideas and came across a great website called birthday celebrations. On this website was something called "party in a box." Basically, it was everything needed to make body glitter, scented lip gloss, and scented body lotion. What could be more perfect as Madeline loves to create things?! It included all the supplies and along with it was manicure/pedicure lotions, facial masks and moist towelettes and nail polish! To make it even better....it also came with the goody bags for the girls to put their "creations" in. That's what I call "one stop shopping!" The girls had such a great time "creating"! The conversations that were occuring were hilarious as you can imagine!

After the girls were done it was time to move on to pedicures. My sister Jennifer painted each girls toenails. Thanks Auntie Jenn for all your help today! Madeline adores you and loves you so much! After the paint dried we put on nail jewels. Each girl got to choose one jewel for each of their big toes. They turned out so cute...and the girls felt so grown up!

Next we moved on to lunch.....we had pepperoni and cheese pizza, pasta salad, cheese cubes, grapes, strawberries and fruit dip! We had some very hungry little girls on our hands!

After lunch we then did our facials! What fun! The girls were so exctied! They had fun laughing at each other .... and how silly they looked!

We ended the day with cupcakes, ice cream and presents. The girls gave each other big hugs as it was time to leave. They kept saying that they couldn't wait to go to school on Monday to show off their "shiny" skin and toenails!

Madeline, Mommy had such a wonderful time with you and your friends. You are such a kind hearted and sweet girl. I hope you always remain that way. You make your Daddy and I so proud. You are such a miracle and blessing to us and we thank the Lord everyday for you. Happy 7th Birthday! We look forward to a wonderful year full of many new memories!

Celebration 2--The cousins

After school was out the kids and I along with their cousins, Carter and Cameron headed to one of Madeline's favorite places to eat-Pizza Hut. Yes...that's me and 5 kids! Of course, they all look alike and people who do not know me actually think all 5 are mine. I'll claim them! Thankfully it was not too crowded and we had fast service. The waitress was so very sweet and very attentive. While we were eating Cameron pulls out a present for Madeline. It was a set that goes with her Polly Pocket things. She was so excited! What made it even more special was that Cameron saw it in the store and new Madeline would love it...so he bought it for her with his OWN money. Isn't that the sweetest thing?! Thank you Cameron, for thinking of her in that way. You are so sweet and I love you so much! After lunch, we came back to our house and the cousins had fun playing with each other. Thankfully, the weather was nice and they spent the majority of the time outside! However, Madeline did convince Cameron to play Polly Pocket with her. I could tell that he really didn't want to.....but he did it anyway. He really made her day! When Uncle Gearis came to pick up Cameron and Carter he took Madeline and Kollman to the park to play! What a great surprise! I was able to get in some great alone time with Ryan! When they got home they were tired and ready for bed! After unwrapping presents and grabbing a quick bite it was time for baths and bed! What a fun day!

The first of many 7th birthday celebrations

January 22nd was Madeline's 7th birthday! So... to kick off the first of many birthday celebrations Kollman, Ryan and I packed up balloons, cupcakes and headed off to Madeline's 1st grade classroom. The kids in her class were so excited and so very sweet to Madeline....they all kept crowding around her and wanting their pictures made! It happened to be an early release day and all the kids thought it was because it was her birthday. Too funny!

Happy 7th Birthday Madeline!

Madeline, our oldest is officially 7 years old! Where did the time go? We have seen her grow into such a sweet, kindhearted, smart and creative little girl. We are very proud of her and praise the Lord daily for her and what she means to her family. Thursday, January 22nd, was her big day and Kollman, Ryan and myself packed up some cupcakes and balloons and headed off to her 1st grade class to start one of the many celebrations for her big day! The kids were so excited and so very sweet to her. It was actually an early release day so the kids all thought it was because it was Madeline's birthday! How funny!
