Kollman and his new bike

Three Generations of Golfers

This morning Matt, his Dad, and Kollman packed up at 8AM and headed to the course. Matt and his father both share a passion for golf. Now....Kollman is showing interest. Matt started about Kollman's age....4. Can't wait to hear the stories when they get home! Thank you Matt for sharing your passion with Kollman and for having the patience to teach him. You are a great father...and creating memories with him that will last a lifetime.

Manners and Sharing

As parents we all strive to have well mannered children.....and also children that can share with others. Ryan at 22 months has the manner thing down pat...he says "mease" (a combination of me and please) and "tank you" (thank you). He needs no or little reminding. Sharing on the other hand....not so much. If Madeline or Kollman have something he will do everything within his power to get it from them. While Kollman and Ryan were playing in the sandbox today Kollman asked Ryan for a truck he had been playing with. Ryan WILLINGLY gave him the truck...and didn't try to take it back afterwards!!! I know we still have our work cut out for us on the sharing....but at least we know he's understanding the concept.

Best Friends

Friday night Madeline had her best friend, Madison, over for a sleep-over! I had been invited to a spa party that same evening so the girls tagged along with me. They had a blast trying out all the different lotions and things.....they thought they were so grown up! They also watched (and danced to) HSM 3.....did arts and crafts....played Polly Pockets....and played several games outdoors. I am so glad that Madeline and Madison have become such good friends as Madeline has really missed her friends from North Carolina. Both girls are so sweet and tenderhearted....and very well mannered. Madison, we were glad you were able to come spend the night! We will have to do it again real soon!!!

Goodbye High Chair....Hello Booster Seat

Well....Ryan has been showing signs for a few weeks now that he wants to eat at the big table, in a big chair, with the big kids. I don't think I was ready for it....it's just another sign that he's getting big and is not a "baby" anymore. So today I finally decided to break out the booster seat and strap it to a "big" chair as Ryan calls it. He was so excited to be "up" there with the big kids! He is also sporting a new "do." He had a hair cut yesterday....and not just a trim. It was finally time to cut off his curls...he looks so much older now. He did NOT like getting his hair cut but the stylist was super sweet...and fast! The past two days have really served as a reminder to me that time really does fly by....and to cherish every moment with Ryan while he is still "little."
